Frozen Trail First Look Coming September 23
The biggest news surrounding Update 1.47.0 is the upcoming reveal of Frozen Trail.
Embark Studios will host a special First Look on September 23 at 10:00 AM PDT / 7:00 PM CEST, where the developers will showcase what players can expect from the upcoming update.
The studio says there is even more planned before Frozen Trail officially arrives on October 8, meaning players can expect additional information in the coming weeks.
For ARC Raiders players, this could be one of the most important updates yet, with Embark describing Frozen Trail as its biggest update so far.
New Riposta Set Variants
Update 1.47.0 also adds two new color variants for the Riposta Set.
Players can now customize the set with new Camo and White variants, giving Raiders additional options when putting together their loadouts and appearance.
While the update is primarily focused on fixes and improvements, the new cosmetic variants provide a small customization boost ahead of the Frozen Trail release.
Fair Play and Anti-Cheat Improvements
Embark has also provided another update on its ongoing efforts to combat cheating, exploits and other forms of unfair play in ARC Raiders.
According to the developers, several ban waves have already targeted accounts showing bot-like behavior, particularly in relation to manipulation of the game's economy.
The team is continuing to improve its detection systems to identify additional suspicious behavior, including potential XP farming.
Embark is also continuing to take action against accounts involved in unusually high-value item transfers.
Item Duplication Remains a Focus
Item duplication continues to be an area of focus for the development team.
Embark says it has seen positive results following improvements made over the summer, while continuing to monitor the situation and strengthen its systems.
The developers are also working on ways to prevent repeat offenders from simply returning after being banned.
One of the areas being strengthened involves shared licenses and how they are restricted following account sanctions. The goal is to make it more difficult for previously sanctioned cheaters to simply purchase another account and return to the game.
Embark says tracking behavior before and after sanctions can also help its team identify repeat offenders faster.
The studio is additionally expanding the use of first-strike permanent bans when its detection systems have a high degree of confidence that an account is violating the rules.
Players are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious behavior to help the team identify and address unfair play.
Gameplay and Inventory Fixes
Update 1.47.0 includes several gameplay and inventory-related fixes.
One issue involving doors has been addressed, where doors could become desynchronized and appear open to players even though they were actually closed.
Embark has also fixed an issue involving door blockers that could cause a copy of the door mesh to appear on the opposite side.
Inventory management has received attention as well. Swapping or splitting items could previously result in items being placed into incompatible containers, such as non-quick-use items being forced into the belt.
Additional safeguards have been added to prevent invalid inventory slot indexing.
Keyboard Input Issues Fixed
Players who experienced keyboard controls becoming unresponsive after launching ARC Raiders while the game window was unfocused should also see improvements.
The update addresses an issue where keyboard input could stop working after launching the game unfocused or returning to the game from the background.
The goal is to ensure keyboard controls properly respond once the game window is focused again.
Map Improvements
Several visual issues have also been addressed across ARC Raiders' maps.
Buried City
Lighting issues in Buried City have been fixed. Some areas could previously appear excessively dark or have missing lighting, making certain locations more difficult to see.
Riven Tides
A number of visual problems that could occur while travelling through Riven Tides have also been resolved.
For players exploring the ARC Raiders maps, these changes should provide a cleaner and more consistent visual experience.
More Stability and Performance Improvements
Update 1.47.0 contains a number of under-the-hood improvements aimed at making ARC Raiders more stable during longer play sessions.
An issue involving inventory item tooltips could cause information from previous screens to remain in memory. Over time, this could increase memory usage and potentially affect stability.
Embark has also improved its crash detection and diagnostic tools.
Other stability fixes include:
- A rare crash during server shutdown has been fixed.
- An Xbox issue involving resource conflicts has been addressed.
Inventory screen stability has been improved.
- A frequent PS5 crash related to the physics engine has been addressed.
The team is also continuing to deploy stability improvements targeting Xbox Series X|S crashes.
Expedition Changes
The Expedition system has received a small but important UI change.
The Expedition Project button will now indicate when an Expedition has been paused after the cutoff date. Players will also be prevented from committing resources in this state.
The Skill Tree has also been adjusted. Skill Point assignment is now set to hold-to-assign by default, rather than assigning points with a simple press.
Don't Forget Your Free Rubber Ducks

There is also a limited-time reminder for players who haven't claimed their community-made Rubber Ducks yet.
The inbox message containing the Rubber Ducks will stop being sent after October 8.
If you want to make sure you receive them, log into ARC Raiders and claim them before the deadline.
Expedition 5 Departure Deadline
Players participating in Expedition 5 have another important deadline to keep in mind.
The Departure sign-up window closes on:
September 29 at 10:00 AM CEST / 8:00 AM UTC / 1:00 AM PT
Embark has confirmed that there will be no Last Call this time, so players should make sure their Expedition project is completed and their Departure sign-up is confirmed before the deadline.
Some players have reportedly been experiencing problems with the Departure screen. If you are unable to confirm your sign-up, Embark recommends contacting support as soon as possible.
Known Issues
Despite the fixes included in Update 1.47.0, several issues are still being investigated.
Known issues currently include:
Continued Xbox Series X|S crashes.
Quick Wheel occasionally switching or jumping to the wrong item slot.
Broken weapon swap animations after vaulting.
Broken player animations when interrupting a Baron Husk search.
Shredders floating toward the ceiling in certain Hidden Bunker rooms.
Leapers being able to jump through the ARC Turbine.
Shots potentially failing to register while riding ARC.
Player characters occasionally stuttering or jittering after being revived.
The Matriarch occasionally failing to use all ranged attacks.
Footsteps becoming inaudible during constant shoulder swapping while sprinting.
Players becoming stuck on obstacles while sliding downhill.
Custom keyboard bindings resetting after raids when using non-US English keyboard layouts.
Long lists of text occasionally disappearing while scrolling.
Embark says it is continuing to monitor these issues and use player reports to guide future fixes.
What Comes Next for ARC Raiders?
Update 1.47.0 may not be the biggest content update ARC Raiders has received, but it prepares the game for what could be a much larger moment later this year.
With Frozen Trail arriving October 8 and a First Look scheduled for September 23, players won't have to wait much longer to see what Embark has planned.
For now, Raiders have several things to keep track of: claim the free Rubber Ducks, finish Expedition 5 before the September 29 deadline, download Update 1.47.0 and get ready for the Frozen Trail reveal.
