Celeste is getting a serious upgrade in Frozen Trail and this time, you're actually going to see the actor behind the character.
Speranza has always been one of the most important parts of ARC Raiders. It's not just about shooting ARC machines and grabbing loot. The people living underground are what give the Rust Belt its personality and Celeste is right at the center of it.
Now Embark is changing how she looks and moves.
Meet the Real Celeste
Celeste has been voiced by Diana Gardner since the very beginning of ARC Raiders. But according to Embark, the game's previous facial technology couldn't fully capture her performance.
Her voice was there. Her character was there. But something was missing.
With Frozen Trail, that's about to change.
Embark is introducing full motion capture with a much more detailed facial system, allowing Diana's expressions and emotions to be captured and transferred directly onto Celeste.
The result?
Celeste finally looks like the person bringing her to life.
And yes, that means she will look noticeably different from the Celeste we've known since launch.
Frozen Trail Will Show It First
The first big showcase comes with the Frozen Trail trailer on October 6.
This will be the first time Embark uses the new full performance capture technology for Celeste, giving players a much closer look at Diana's actual performance.
It's more than just making a character prettier.
Facial expressions matter when you're trying to sell a serious moment, an emotional conversation or a major story beat. Embark wants those moments to feel more believable instead of having the voice and the character's face feel disconnected.
And Celeste Isn't The End
The changes aren't limited to cinematic trailers.
When Frozen Trail launches, Celeste's in-game appearance will also be updated so that her face, voice and performance line up much more closely with Diana Gardner.
And Embark isn't stopping there.
The team says future updates will bring more ARC Raiders characters closer to the real actors behind them, gradually using the technology to make the people of Speranza feel more authentic.
That could make a pretty big difference as ARC Raiders continues to expand its story.
Frozen Trail Is Getting Bigger
Between the new Pendola Pass map, fresh content and now these improvements to character performances, Frozen Trail is shaping up to be one of the biggest moments for ARC Raiders yet.
And honestly?
